One of the key assessment tools used is Stages of development from developmental psychology for both individuals and organisations. The notion of Stages addresses the dialectic of the spectrum of styles of management and organisational structures, each with their strengths and weaknesses. Using open-ended (rather than multiple choice) questions, data can be obtained on the fundamental structures of management’s persepctives and their agility in drawing on the modes of operation of each Stage.
